Scott Applewhite)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Tens of millions of dollars in property is being held by the\nstate, waiting for the owners to claim it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unclaimed property can range from extra money paid to a\nutility company, to money left leftover in a bank account you thought you had\nclosed years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lehigh Acres Fire Dept<\/strong> has five accounts listed 14732106, 127415773, 117447642, 100144453, and\u00a0117600395, could be 100\u2019s or 1000\u2019s of dollars<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> has two accounts 119790399 and 122162783<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lehigh Regional Medical Center<\/strong> has nine accounts in the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lee County<\/strong>, in general, has over 100 accounts that they could collect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to find out if you have any unclaimed money. You\njust have to type in your name and confirm your identity by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fltreasurehunt.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clicking here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, follow the steps below recommended by the Florida Department\nof Financial Services:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Check the official website and fill out the\nclaim form via the state. It&#8217;s free.<\/li><li>Fill Out All Forms. Read carefully, fill out\ncompletely and sign your claim form. Each claim form will detail the\ndocumentation you are required to provide. The required documentation will\ninclude (but may not be limited to) a copy of your current identification\nreflecting your current mailing address and documentation proving your ownership\nof the account. Please refer to the claim form for the specific documentation\nrequired for your claim.<\/li><li>Drop in the Mail.
