Grants are being offered through the auspices of Lee County Emergency Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grants awarded will be directed toward a project that is directed at a clearly defined audience and a documented injury or safety issue within the county.&nbsp; Grant funds are not for the continuation of a current program, but for advancing or expanding a current effort.&nbsp; The receiving organization\u2019s history of successfully completed prevention efforts will be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for the grants must be received by August 1, 2019, and should include the issue and the prevalence of the problem, how the organization plans to achieve its objectivities, and how the funds will be used.&nbsp; A budget and timeline for distribution of the funds should be included as well as how the project will be sustainable. &nbsp;&nbsp;Applications are available through the Injury Prevention Coalition at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:ipcleecounty@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ipcleecounty@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizations who would like assistance in preparing their applications are invited to send a representative to the Coalition\u2019s July 17 meeting, where an experienced grant writer will be available to answer questions.&nbsp; The meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Lee County Emergency Operations Center, 2675 Ortiz Ave., Fort Myers, FL, in rooms B, C, and D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lee County Injury Prevention Coalition serves as a collaborative effort or partnership whose function is to facilitate partners\u2019 work and act as a catalyst for injury prevention initiatives.&nbsp;
