Items such as batteries, flashlights and generators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The disaster-preparation holiday is projected to save shoppers $5.5 million in state and local taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other items free of tax include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Portable self powered radios<br>\n\u2013 Tarps or waterproof sheets<br>\n\u2013 Gas or diesel fuel tanks<br>\n\u2013 AA, AAA, C, D, 6-volt or 9- volt batteries<br>\n\u2013 Non electric coolers<br>\n\u2013 Reusable ice packs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information and a <a href=\"https:\/\/cbsmiami.files.wordpress.com\/2019\/05\/tip-122405_tip-19a01-02_final_rll.pdf\">full list of qualifying items can be found here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 7-day sales tax holiday begins today, May 31, one day before the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season.
