Neighbors were demanding someone remove the old buses be removed off the Lee Boulevard and Alaska Avenue lot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee County has taken action against the people who own that land, again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Code enforcement has deemed the area a public health and safety threat. The state of the buses is a breeding ground for rodents and snakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the county, certified mail with the violation notice has been sent to Plattner Automotive Group, based in Sarasota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The notice specifically said the lot the buses are sitting on is violating a county ordinance, which forbids accumulation of inoperable vehicles and trash in unincorporated parts of Lee County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The automotive group owns the land, but the buses belong to A&amp;S Transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, A&amp;S Transportation is facing code enforcement action for another lot they use.<br><br>That company retires bus fleet vehicles and leaves them in the lot to await resale. Plattner Automotive rents the lot to A&amp;S monthly, according to managers at the dealership in Lehigh Acres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the county ordinance, the longer the lot is in violation, the owners face a $250 fine per day and\/or possibly 60 days in jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plattner Automotive declined our request for comment for this story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We will be working to ensure that our vehicles on the site align with Lee County ordinances,&#8221;&nbsp;A&amp;S Transportation said in a statement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than 30 broken down school buses are rotting in the middle of a Lehigh Acres neighborhood on Lee Blvd. Last year people wanted something done to those buses.
