Some have worried not just about\nthe community&#8217;s curb appeal, but about the negative stigmas often associated\nwith the suspended shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Snopes, an online fact-checker, there is no one\ncorrect explanation. Suspended shoes on power lines have been known to be the\nproduct of teenage mischief, used to mark drug hot-spots, memorials, or even\ngang territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coincidentally, graffiti tags were found Monday afternoon\nnearby where the shoes were hanging, and residents said the graffiti is recent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Florida Power and Light who owns the power poles and lines\nwhere the shoes were hanging removed them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly a dozen shoes dangling from a power line in Lehigh Acres were removed after spending months suspended in the air.
