\"\"Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public\u2019s help tracking down one or more suspects who are responsible for well over a dozen car burglaries in Lehigh over the last few weeks.<\/p>\n

Detectives say there have been 15 or more car burglaries throughout Lehigh, with most of the cars left unlocked.\u00a0 During one of the most recent break-ins, a handgun was stolen from the center console of a truck parked in the driveway of a 24th<\/sup>\u00a0Street W. home.\u00a0 That car, too, was unlocked at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cCar thieves are having a hay day of late, and unfortunately residents are making it easy for crooks to easily get in and out of the vehicles with stolen items,\u201d said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.\u00a0 \u201cThe easiest way to keep yourself from being targeted by thieves is to lock your car doors\u00a0every<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0time and to not leave valuables in the car \u2013 even if they\u2019re not in plain sight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Surveillance cameras from one of the recent break-ins captured an image of at least one of the suspects believed to be involved with the recent rash.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the Lehigh car burglary suspect or suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).\u00a0 All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.\u00a0 Tips may also be made online at\u00a0www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com<\/a>\u00a0or by submitting a tip through the P3Tips app.<\/p>\n
