The U.S. Postal Service is prepared for the holiday season and will offer extended retail hours at many locations.\u00a0 Whether customers need to ship it quickly or have plenty of time, the Postal Service has an option that will make shipping convenient and affordable.<\/p>\n

Extended Retail Hours:\u00a0Postal facilities throughout the Suncoast District are either opening and\/or extended their hours leading up to Christmas Day. Those designated offices will provide full retail services, including stamp sales and package acceptance.\u00a0 Locations with extended hours are listed below. In addition, several Suncoast District Post Offices not listed already offer retail hours on Saturdays and after\u00a05 p.m.\u00a0 Customers can check\u00a0usps.com\/Find<\/a>\u00a0Locations and\/or call 1.800.ASK.USPS for hours at specific Post Offices.<\/p>\n

In addition, we have our Self-Service Kiosks at the following locations for your use 24\/7:<\/p>\n

Busiest Mailing and Delivery Days
\nThe Postal Service predicts that\u00a0Monday, December 19, will be the busiest mailing and shipping day for holiday packages, letters and cards.\u00a0 The busiest mailing day also is expected to be the Postal Service\u2019s busiest day online with more than 7 million customers predicted to visit\u00a0usps.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Monday, December 22, is expected to be the busiest delivery day for holiday packages, cards and letters. The Postal Service anticipates that more than 30 million packages will be delivered on the peak delivery day alone.<\/p>\n

Consumers can also visit\u00a0usps.com\/holiday<\/a>\u00a0for more information and shipping options throughout the season.<\/p>\n

2016 Christmas Shipping Deadlines
\nFor delivery in anticipation of Christmas, the Postal Service recommends keeping the following mailing and shipping deadlines in mind:<\/p>\n

Dec. 9\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 APO\/FPO\/DPO Priority Mail & First Class Mail<\/p>\n

Dec. 15\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 USPS Retail Ground<\/p>\n

Dec. 20\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 First Class Mail<\/p>\n

Dec. 21\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 Priority Mail<\/p>\n

Dec. 23\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 Priority Mail Express<\/p>\n

The Postal Service expects to deliver a total of approximately 16 billion cards, letters, flats, and packages during the 2016 holiday season. In addition, we are projecting approximately 750 million packages will be delivered between Thanksgiving and New Year\u2019s Eve, which is an increase of 12 percent over last year\u2019s volume.<\/p>\n

In time for the holidays, the Postal Service will offer real-time delivery notifications \u2013 meaning customers who sign up for alerts at\u00a0myusps.com<\/a>\u00a0will receive notification within a few minutes of the delivery scan for select packages.<\/p>\n
