{"id":4181,"date":"2012-03-16T22:23:42","date_gmt":"2012-03-17T04:23:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=4181"},"modified":"2012-03-16T22:27:23","modified_gmt":"2012-03-17T04:27:23","slug":"aaa-offers-tow-to-go-for-st-patricks-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2012\/03\/aaa-offers-tow-to-go-for-st-patricks-day\/","title":{"rendered":"AAA offers <BR> &#8216;tow to go&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/towandgo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4182\" title=\"towandgo\" src=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/towandgo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"229\" \/><\/a>If you&#8217;ve had too much to drink and can&#8217;t get a cab you can call AAA.<\/p>\n<p>AAA is offering a free and confidential tow service called &#8220;tow to go&#8221; St.\u00a0Patrick&#8217;s Day weekend for anyone who has been drinking.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The reason the program is so important is we not only protect the intoxicated driver,&#8221; said\u00a0Joanna Newton, with AAA, &#8220;but we protect everybody else on the roadway.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The program, meant as a last resort, provides anyone who has been drinking a free and confidential ride home &#8211; along with a free tow for their car.<\/p>\n<p>The program runs through Sunday and you don&#8217;t have to be a AAA member.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>AAA says they have taken over 18,000 drunk drivers off the road since 1998.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re interested in the free car towing service and ride home you can call (800) AAA-HELP.<\/p>\n<p>The Lee County Sheriff&#8217;s office will be doing a vehicle safety checkpoint at an undisclosed location this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies encourage anyone who spots a drunk driver to call 911.
