{"id":41183,"date":"2016-09-15T17:34:07","date_gmt":"2016-09-15T21:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=41183"},"modified":"2016-09-15T17:34:07","modified_gmt":"2016-09-15T21:34:07","slug":"two-injured-in-morning-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2016\/09\/two-injured-in-morning-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Injured In Morning Crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-34761\" title=\"head on crash\" src=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/head-on-crash-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/head-on-crash-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/head-on-crash.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Two people were injured in a\u00a0morning crash on Lee Boulevard and Edwinstone Boulevard Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The westbound lanes of Lee Boulevard were shut down for almost two hours.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple units responded to the scene with trauma alerts reported in the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Myers Police originally stated that one of the drivers involved in the crash died of their injuries.\u00a0On Thursday afternoon, police officials sent out a release stating a miscommunication occurred.<\/p>\n<p>The release said the injured driver is still alive, but in &#8220;very serious condition&#8221; in the ICU at Lee Memorial Hospital.\u00a0That\u00a0driver was identified as 67-year-old Myriam Knight.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->According to FMPD, Knight was exiting Olympia Point in her 2007 Toyota Corolla. She was attempting to go east on Lee Boulevard.\u00a0Knight did not notice a 2004 Jeep Liberty that was traveling west on Lee Boulevard and entered directly into the vehicle&#8217;s path.\u00a0Knight&#8217;s vehicle was hit on the driver&#8217;s side.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation found Knight to be at fault for the crash.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the Jeep was taken to the Lehigh Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two people were injured in a\u00a0morning crash on Lee Boulevard and Edwinstone Boulevard Thursday morning.
