\"\"Due to the feedback from the participants of Fort Myers Slide The City, it is very clear that the location of our event is much more important than continuing with the original date of the event at an alternate location. For this reason, we have decided to host our event on the Edison Bridge and postpone the event until after the construction of the alternate traffic route is completed. The city officials of Fort Myers have previously expressed support and excitement for this event! According to the state District permit engineer, construction is anticipated to be finished in October.<\/p>\n

In speaking with local participants in Fort Myers they feel that the local weather at that time would still provide an amazing slide party. Perhaps a costume slide around Halloween would awesome!<\/p>\n

We at Slide The City want nothing more than to show everyone the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you will have sliding the Edison Bridge! We appreciate your patience with us in finishing the permitting process. We will announce the new date as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

Any participants that wish to have a refund are more than welcome to, and in the event that there are challenges in finalizing the permit for the Edison Bridge all participants will be guaranteed a full refund. Remember when the permitting of this event is finalized and publicly posted, it will sell out as it was sold out currently! Slide The City will keep you posted weekly on the status of this event.<\/p>\n
