I hope you can help me spread the word,
\nI want to do a story about my mom Joann Seaton, and we are\u00a0desperate. She is need of a double lung transplant and her current insurance will cover only 1\/3 of her medical expenses. My mom lives in Lake wales, FL (I live in Lehigh Acres, FL) she is only 53 years old too young to be going through all this. We need help raising money for her medical bills. My mom was told on October 30, 2006 she would need a double lung transplant to survive. Joann has been waiting for a double lung transplant for almost six years.
\nDuring the past few years she has been hospitalized four times with sever bacterial infections in her lung. Without this transplant the doctors state her life expectancy is very short .My mom has only 12% of her left lung that functions , she lives on a constant flow of oxygen 24 hours a day 7 days a week and is very limited as to what she can do in an effort to keep her heart stress free until surgery.
\nIts time I step up and ask for help, I live in Lehigh Acres, FL and have a full time job. I’m doing everything in my power to get the word out, we can’t do this alone. I’m currently coming too you for help, help me spread the word. In recent months her health has declined. Due to her health she has been on SSI\u00a0 100% for the past twelve years. Medicaid insurance covers only 1\/3 of her current medical expenses.
\nThe needed transplant surgery will cost over $150,000; we need to come up with at least $50,000 before the surgery will be performed. It is estimated that the anit0rejection medication that she will need after surgery will run around $35,000 for the first year alone. Recently we have found out her insurance is not willing to pay for some of her medications and for a home nurse. Now the hospital in Jacksonville, FL is worried that they will end up not paying for her double lung transplant surgery, and they informed us if that’s the case she will be removed from the transplant list, that\u2019s why we are in need of donations to try to come up with the money to help save my mother’s life.
\nIn effort to help my mom live a longer healthier life, she has been put on the HelpHopeLive transplant assistance fund. To date HelpHopeLive has helped well over 2,500 patients raise money. These Donations can be used towards un insured transplant procedures, medication, transportation to and from transplant centers, deductibles , co-payments , air ambulance for emergency visits act…… Truth be told we were told Medicaid might not pay for some of my mother’s medical needs, please help me save my mom’s life. She has always been there for me, now it’s my turn.
