Aldi\u00a0has no deli or bakery departments.\u00a0Like Trader Joe’s,\u00a0which was founded by Theo Albrecht, brother and rival of Aldi’s founder\u00a0Karl Albrecht, Aldi offers mainly its own\u00a0private-label brands. That means no Cheerios or Rice Krispies, just\u00a0similar, Aldi’s-branded\u00a0alternatives.<\/p>\n

“The stores are small and easier to navigate,” Jeff Williams, Aldi’s\u00a0director of real estate said while outlining the store’s plans to a Lehigh Acres Architectural review board.<\/p>\n

Such cost-saving methods keep Aldi’s prices extremely low, about 30 percent cheaper than\u00a0Wal-Mart\u00a0for produce and packaged goods according to a\u00a02015 report\u00a0by\u00a0Business Insider.<\/p>\n

Representatives for Aldi have been tight-lipped on the Lehigh location,\u00a0offering few details other than a general time frame for opening.<\/p>\n

According to a report from November 2015,\u00a0the new store will be at 2803 Lee Blvd.,\u00a0on the old\u00a0First Christian Church site.\u00a0But an Aldi\u00a0publicist\u00a0declined to confirm this then<\/p>\n

Now the work area has been fenced and the church is slated for demolition.<\/p>\n
