\"\"<\/a>We often forget that our family pet\/s have feelings to. With the heat of summer, the stress of paying bills and the cost of life in general, one local nonprofit organization is looking to bring a little bit of the holiday spirit to July.<\/p>\n

When asked why she would help strangers, Wanda Mendoza (founder of \u00a0Fur-licious Pet Pantry \u00a0replied \u201cI started it because I heard from a lot of people that they couldn’t make it into Ft Myers or N Ft Myers to get help for their pets. Many didn’t have the funds for gas, or the time to take off work to go into Fort Myers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wanda Mendoza continued saying, \u201cSince July 2015, I have helped fed over 800 pets with the help of our generous donators. Many families have told me that without the help they probably would have had to surrender their pet to a shelter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now one year later from its founding, Fur-licious Pet Pantry is hold its annual Christmas in July event for your pet\/s.<\/p>\n

Each Christmas in July bag will have dog or cat food. Some Christmas in July bags will have treats, a toy, bowl, leash, collar, or another surprise in side for your pet\/s.<\/p>\n

Pick up Days \u00a0are July 23 or 24, 2016 . (off Homestead near Burger King) between 10am-6pm<\/p>\n

Local Lehigh Businesses: If you would like to advertise your business by inserting a flyer, business card or brochure into the bag, please drop them off at least 75 of them to me by July 15th<\/sup><\/p>\n

Now if you do not have a pet\/s, you can still get involved with a donation. Fur-licious Pet Pantry – Lehigh Acres, FL is always in need of Cat, Dog foods (wet and dry foods being most needed), Cat and Dog treats & Ziplock bags (1 gal & sandwich sizes).<\/p>\n

\u201cUnlike other organizations in our area we do not give anyone the third degree. We encourage those in need to ask for help–even if they just need advice or an ear to listen. We all run into problems and need to stand together as a community to help our fur-friends in need.\u201d Said Wanda Mendoza, founder Fur-licious Pet Pantry.<\/p>\n

The pantry can help to feed up to 5 pets per family up to 8 times a year. Plus we have 3-4 “special pantries” a year that don’t count towards the 8 times they are allowed to come.<\/p>\n

Fur-licious Pet Pantry is one of those shining beacons of hope to our town. In this time and place we can all use a little hope from time to time. So I would encourage you to sign up if you need help or donate if you can to this wonderful local nonprofit organization.<\/p>\n
