Final Night of Preliminary Competitions Bring Contestants One Step Closer to Finals<\/p>\n

\"\"The third night of preliminary competitions in the 81st Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant has concluded with winners being named in the Talent Competition and the Lifestyle, Fitness and Swimsuit Competition. All Preliminary Competition winners receive a $300 scholarship.<\/p>\n

The focus of the Pageant Competition now turns to the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant Finals, which will be held on\u00a0Saturday, July 1 at 8:00 p.m.\u00a0at the Youkey Theater in the Lakeland Center. For the preliminary rounds the 48 contestants were broken into three groups, with each group competing in a different preliminary competition each evening. This evening Group A competed in Talent, Group B competed in the Lifestyle, Fitness and Swimsuit competition, and Group C competed in the Evening Gown and the On-Stage Question competition. The top 10 finalists from the preliminary rounds, along with an 11th \u201cPeople\u2019s Choice\u201d competitor will, be announced at\u00a0Saturday\u00a0evening\u2019s Miss Florida Pageant Finals. The Miss Florida 2017will be named from one of these 11 contestants.<\/p>\n

This year marks the first time in the event\u2019s history the Pageant will be held in Lakeland, the Pageant\u2019s new home. The Miss Florida Pageant is a preliminary competition to the Miss America Pageant which is the world\u2019s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women and one of nation\u2019s largest achievement programs. This year\u2019s pageant title will be contested by 48 participants from throughout the state, with the winner representing Florida at the 2016 Miss America Pageant. The Miss Florida\u2019s Outstanding Teen program features young ladies between the ages of 13 and 17 competing for the honor of representing the Sunshine State at the 2017 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando.<\/p>\n
