{"id":39973,"date":"2016-05-18T11:41:46","date_gmt":"2016-05-18T15:41:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=39973"},"modified":"2016-05-18T11:41:46","modified_gmt":"2016-05-18T15:41:46","slug":"lehigh-acres-man-arrest-for-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2016\/05\/lehigh-acres-man-arrest-for-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"Lehigh Acres Man Arrest For Murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-39974\" title=\"Abraham Isaac Rivera,\" src=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Abraham-Isaac-Rivera-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Abraham-Isaac-Rivera-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Abraham-Isaac-Rivera.jpg 534w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>A\u00a0Lehigh Acres\u00a0man has been charged with second degree murder in the Sunday morning\u00a0death of Eddie Powell Jr., 22, at the Island Park Shopping Center in south Lee County.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office\u00a0major crimes unit\u00a0arrested Abraham Isaac Rivera, 20, on Monday in connection with Powell&#8217;s death.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, at approximately 3:14 a.m., the\u00a0sheriff&#8217;s office responded to 16520 South\u00a0Tamiami Trail\u00a0and found Powell&#8217;s body.<\/p>\n<p>The site is the Island Park Shopping\u00a0Center at the corner of Island Park Road and Tamiami Trail and contains several restaurants, bars, a hookah lounge and other\u00a0businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Construction at the center has closed a large section of the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>A 2015 entry in the Lee County jail\u00a0website for Powell said he had lived with his mother in\u00a0Fort Myers\u00a0but had moved to Cape Coral.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit have assumed this ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A\u00a0Lehigh Acres\u00a0man has been charged with second degree murder in the Sunday morning\u00a0death of Eddie Powell Jr., 22, at the Island Park Shopping Center in south Lee County.
