\"\"The committee of the annual Lehigh Acres Spring Festival here in the second day of the nine days festival but the fair\u2019s\u00a0mishaps in\u00a0previous years still cast a huge shadow of doubt for those who are concerned about safety.<\/p>\n

Three years ago, a ride malfunctioned injuring\u00a0five kids and sending two to the hospital. Last year, a ride lost power, leaving six stranded at the top.<\/p>\n

This year, the fair\u2019s organizers say they\u2019ve parted ways with the company that operated the rides and hired a new crew,\u00a0hoping everything runs more smoothly.<\/p>\n

Crews tightened screws and replaced ropes on Friday\u00a0during the final phase of ride construction. Meanwhile, an inspector for the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services went through a\u00a0checklist for every ride to make sure each one met the safety requirements.<\/p>\n

Currently the new operator has not setup any thrill rides all the rides are for kids and smaller teens.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did change,\u201d said Andy Reisinger, Former Board President of the festival. \u201cThis year we have a different company providing the carnival rides for us so we\u2019re looking forward to a successful partnership with the new company.\u201d<\/p>\n

Modern Midways used to provide the rides\u00a0but a\u00a0petition showed not everyone was in favor of having them back again this year, so the festival switched to Tove Entertainment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe definitely did our research and of course we wanted to offer a carnival for our festival. So we did our research and we decided on this company,\u201d Reisinger said.<\/p>\n

The Department of Agriculture inspector said all\u00a0the rides he checked as of\u00a0Friday\u00a0afternoon\u00a0passed the 28 safety requirements.
