{"id":38596,"date":"2016-01-29T11:51:18","date_gmt":"2016-01-29T16:51:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=38596"},"modified":"2016-01-29T13:10:51","modified_gmt":"2016-01-29T18:10:51","slug":"59th-thomas-alva-edison-kiwanis-science-engineering-fair-winners-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2016\/01\/59th-thomas-alva-edison-kiwanis-science-engineering-fair-winners-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"59th Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Science &#038; Engineering Fair Winners Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-28408\" title=\"220px-Thomas_Edison2\" src=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/220px-Thomas_Edison2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"282\" \/>Winners of this year&#8217;s Thomas Alva Edison Science and Engineering Fair were announced at a ceremony at Alico Arena.<\/p>\n<p>More than 200 judges worked Saturday to evaluate students&#8217; entries in the two, separate competitions: the inventor fair for student\u2019s kindergarten through 12th grade, and the larger science and engineering fair, for student\u2019s sixth grade and up.<\/p>\n<p>About 230 students were judged within their divisions (middle and high school) as well as across the board for the ultimate &#8220;best in fair&#8221; award.
