Veteran Academy over $170,000; Lehigh Middle over $59,000; Mirror Lakes over $130,000; Harns Marsh Elem \/ Middle over $ 113,000; Sunshine Elem over $50,000; Lehigh Elem over $72,000; G. Weaver Elem over $59,000 and East Lee County HS over $162,000 and other land and buildings in Lehigh Acres over $385,000.<\/p>\n
At the end of October 2015 the fire Board contracted Governmental Services Group (GSG) to bill ALL the governmental entities that own property in Lehigh Acres. They paid over $12,000 to do this (your tax dollars).<\/p>\n
They also billed:<\/p>\n
Lee County Board of Commissioners billed over $650,000 includes $4,900 bill for the Lehigh Senior Center. Federal Post Office billed over $15,000. Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office billed over $4,900.<\/p>\n
In an email the Lehigh Acres Gazette received from Chief Wayne it stated, \u201cEvery parcel in the boundaries of the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District was assessed and billed, regardless of ownership entity.\u201d<\/p>\n
In another email from Chief Wayne, he stated, \u201cIf they (talking about Governmental entities) elect to pay their assessment, they will remit payment directly to LAFD\u2026not the tax collector like everyone else.\u201d Wayne also said, \u201cWe do not have enforcement powers over government agencies.\u201d<\/p>\n
But in the notices sent to the Governmental entities it states: \u201cFailure to pay the assessment could result in the initiation of proceeding to compel payment by any means authorized by law.\u201d<\/p>\n
Why bill the governmental entities when the fire board has NO power to collect the money or even foreclose on your children\u2019s school.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
