{"id":37344,"date":"2015-10-12T20:58:16","date_gmt":"2015-10-13T00:58:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=37344"},"modified":"2015-10-12T20:58:16","modified_gmt":"2015-10-13T00:58:16","slug":"east-lee-county-high-school-evacuated-following-written-bomb-threat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2015\/10\/east-lee-county-high-school-evacuated-following-written-bomb-threat\/","title":{"rendered":"East Lee County High School Evacuated Following Written Bomb Threat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-37345\" title=\"Bomb threat\" src=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Bomb-threat-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Bomb-threat-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Bomb-threat.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public\u2019s help identifying yet another individual who made a bomb threat at a\u00a0Lee\u00a0County\u00a0high school.<\/p>\n<p>This morning around\u00a08:30 a.m.\u00a0school officials at\u00a0East\u00a0Lee\u00a0County\u00a0High School, 715 Thomas Sherwin Ave., Lehigh Acres, were notified that an unknown individual had left a written message on a partition in the boy\u2019s bathroom that there was a bomb in the school.\u00a0 Administrators quickly evacuated more than 1,500 students, while\u00a0Lee\u00a0County\u00a0deputies searched the building for any suspicious packages.\u00a0 Once the building was cleared, students were allowed back inside the building to resume their day.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->\u201cThis is the third time in a week that a bomb threat has been made at a\u00a0Lee\u00a0County high school,\u201d said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.\u00a0 \u201cWe have no information that any of these incidents are related, however this is a prime learning moment for students who may not realize the consequences of their actions.\u00a0 Bomb threats are felony offenses, and felony offenses don\u2019t go away easily.\u00a0 They will remain when it comes time to apply for jobs and college applications.\u00a0 So what may be perceived as \u2018just a joke\u2019 today can have long lasting consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information on the person responsible behind today\u2019s bomb threat, or either of the bomb threats last week at\u00a0Dunbar\u00a0High School\u00a0and\u00a0South\u00a0Fort Myers High School, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).\u00a0 All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.\u00a0 Tips may also be made online at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.swflcrimestoppers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.swflcrimestoppers.org<\/a>\u00a0or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public\u2019s help identifying yet another individual who made a bomb threat at a\u00a0Lee\u00a0County\u00a0high school.
