Southwest Florida\u00a0Crime Stoppers is asking for the public\u2019s help identifying an unknown woman who used a credit card stolen from a senior citizen to rack up nearly $1,000 in purchases at a Lehigh 7-Eleven.<\/p>\n

The 70 year old victim had been at the 7-Eleven convenience store on\u00a0Sunshine Boulevard\u00a0early in the day on June 23rd.\u00a0 At some point after that, the man\u2019s wallet, containing several credit cards, had gone missing or was stolen.\u00a0 Later that day, an unknown black female made two purchases, one for $500 and one for $400, at that same store using the man\u2019s stolen credit cards.\u00a0 The victim was unaware that he\u2019d been victimized until his bank contacted him regarding the unusual charges.<\/p>\n

Surveillance cameras captured an image of the woman who fraudulently made the purchases with the stolen card.\u00a0 She is described as being 6\u20190\u201d with a large build.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever large purchases are being made, we strongly encourage businesses to either ask for identification or at least check the signature on the back of the card,\u201d said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.\u00a0 \u201cHad the credit card in this case been looked at, it would have been clear that the woman making the purchases was not the man whose name was on the card.\u201d<\/p>\n
