Rice<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Lee County sheriff deputies are investigating what they say is a homicide after a man&#8217;s body was found by a child on a Lehigh Acres roadway Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>The victim is David M. Rice, 29, of North Fort Myers, authorities said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>An 11-year-old boy made the discovery while playing outside Wednesday around 6 p.m. Authorities say they got a call about a possible deceased person at the intersection of Banning Street and Action Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The boy&#8217;s dad called the Lee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>When deputies arrived on scene, they began canvassing and K9s scoured the grassy area in search of evidence.<\/p>\n<p>The boy&#8217;s father tells us this was a traumatic experience for his son &#8211; who will be seeing a therapist &#8211; after discovering the victim&#8217;s decomposing body.<\/p>\n<p>Lee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities are asking for anyone with information about this case to call the Lee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office at 477-1000.
