All of the students expressed interest in the cosmetology program offered by TSPA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarship Recipients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Emily Foster \u2013 Riverdale High<\/p>\n<p>Fernanda Geronimo \u2013 Lehigh Senior High<\/p>\n<p>Jaclyn King \u2013 Ida S. Baker High<\/p>\n<p>Samantha Rivero \u2013 North Nicholas High<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>TSPA offers both a state-of-the-art school with the curriculum and training developed with REDKEN for individuals interested in becoming cosmetologists, as well as a salon area, offering services to the public including hair color, haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and skin care. All services are performed by students under the direction of a licensed cosmetology educator, with full-time courses beginning every four weeks. TSPA\u2019s mission is to graduate highly trained professionals who are prepared to work in 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0century salons and spas.<\/p>\n<p>The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools has several programs and initiatives that encourage college and career readiness. These include FutureMakers, an initiative focused on increasing awareness of possible career and education paths available to high school seniors; Closing the Achievement Gap, an initiative to improve academic performance and instruction; Student Advocacy and Mentoring Partnership (STAMP), a program that provides mentors to at-risk, low-income students; Take Stock in Children, a statewide scholarship program for at-risk students; and our College and Career Center, a facility designed to offer post-secondary workshops and training.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In partnership with The Salon Professional Academy (TSPA), The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Inc. awarded a $2,000 scholarship to four Lee County high school students.
