In the letters dated Sept 22, 2014, \u201c<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">WILL NOT be charged a Fire Fee Assessment<\/span><\/strong><\/span> when the Fire Fee Assessment passes this November, The Board of Fire Commissioners has made a commitment to honor this exemption to the churches and other similarly categorized properties when the Fire Fee Assessment is put in place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And in the resolution dated March 24, 2015 it states, \u201cNo Fire Protection Assessments and Emergency Rescue Assessment shall be imposed upon Building located upon parcels of Institutional Property Whose Building use is wholly exempt from ad valorem taxation\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">So what is the BIG LIE<\/span> \u2026\u2026<\/h2>\n<p><strong>The Fire Dept is charging the Fire Fee Assessment to the following charitable organizations \u2026\u2026 Kiwanis $3900, Knights of Columbus $1575, Jaycees $1339, Moose Lodge $1990, New Life Church $470, Christ United Methodist $584, St Raphael\u2019s $90, Hope Hospice $9007, Goodwill $8048, Habitat for Humanity $584, VFW $1475, Masonic Lodge $3979, American Legion $2421 and Presbyterian Homes known as Sunshine Villas for $111,256.00 and more and more as we go through the list. Check for yourself <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lehighfd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Lehigh_Notice_Roll_05_2015-Part-1-PR.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">click here<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So did the Fire Dept and its Leaders lie to the voters of Lehigh Acres, was it <strong>FRAUD<\/strong> to get the people to vote for the fire assessment fee?<\/p>\n<p>The Fire Dept used a slogan\u2026 What\u2019s Your Life Worth? \u00a0So what is community life worth when the Fire Dept does great monetary harm to many Lehigh Acres charitable organizations?<\/p>\n<p><em>The Lehigh Acres Gazette<\/em> tried to reach all the Commissioners:<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Carter said, \u201cI voted against charging wholly exempt organizations.\u201d; Commissioner Adams said, \u201cWe need to bring this up to the next board meeting.\u201d And Commissioner Becker, Kruse and Smith do not return our call before publication.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chief Wayne in his own words verbally told or wrote the churches and not for profits.
