It&#8217;ll be the first of its kind in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Leaders with the Florida Department of Transportation are considering a new proposal to ease traffic at one of the busiest Lehigh Acres intersections.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a proposal to complete a major face-lift at State Road 82 at Daniels Parkway where it turns into Gunnery Road.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how it goes. Crews will take away the current left turning lanes directly at the intersection. Drivers will be forced to make a left turn farther back. A traffic light will guide drivers safely to a side street leading to the intersection where they can then make a left without having to cross in front of oncoming traffic. This way drivers going straight won&#8217;t have to wait for folks who are turning.<\/p>\n<p>This is called the Continuous Flow Intersection. States like Louisiana, Utah, and Missouri have them.<\/p>\n<p>Are you confused yet? Well don&#8217;t worry. It&#8217;ll carry a $56 million price tag.
