He called in a credit card and when he went to drive away, he found himself boxed in by a mini-van.<\/p>\n<p>He feared for his life.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Hollenback a Lehigh Acres resident witnessed it all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I watched the taxi driver drive off, once he got to the stop sign, I heard the first shot. That&#8217;s when I called 911,&#8221; said Hollenback.<\/p>\n<p>The driver told me someone inside the silver minivan opened the door and fired one shot.<\/p>\n<p>Bowes switched to survivor mode &#8211; he said he drove through the grass and around the mini-van and then took off going as fast at 100 miles per-hour with the suspect&#8217;s car trailing him.<\/p>\n<p>The Lee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office is investigating.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A local cab driver was shot at and chased early Wednesday morning along SR-82 in Lehigh Acres leaving some neighbors on high alert.
