\"\"The Student Assignment Open Enrollment Period for the 2015-2016 school year will end on\u00a0Friday, March 27th, at\u00a04:00 p.m.\u00a0 Parents or guardians of any student entering kindergarten, 6th\u00a0or 9th\u00a0grade, as well as any student new to the District, must complete and submit a Student Assignment application by this date.\u00a0 Parents of children who will be five on or before\u00a0September 1st\u00a0should apply for kindergarten for the 2015-2016 school year. Parents need to register their child even if they have an older child already in school \u2013 assignments are not automatic.<\/p>\n

Student Assignment utilizes a lottery system. A family who registered on the first day of Open Enrollment has the same chance of getting a school as that of a family who registers the last day.<\/p>\n

The District has also unveiled a new\u00a0\u201cFind My School\u201d\u00a0tool for parents this year.
