The Naples Music Club (www.naplesmusicclub.org<\/a>) will present a performance by Nachito Herrera – a master of classical music, Cuban genres and jazz –\u00a0 in his return to Naples on Saturday, February 21, at North Naples Methodist Church at 7:00 p.m. with his trio.<\/p>\n Herrera last played in Naples with the Cuban Symphony to a sold-out audience at the Naples Philharmonic Center two years ago as part of the ArtsNaples World Festival. His performance brought the audience to its feet with thunderous applause.<\/p>\n Ignacio “Nachito” Herrera was a child prodigy who stunned Cuban audiences at the age of 12 when he performed Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 2 with the Havana Symphony Orchestra.\u00a0 He focused on classical music until he was 18. By the late 1990\u2019s, Herrera had joined the famed Cuban Orchestra Cubanismo as its pianist, musical director, and arranger. Cubanismo performed at many of the world\u2019s finest concert halls and prestigious festivals.\u00a0 Herrera combines classical music with traditional Cuban rhythms. He has phenomenal technique, great originality, and a totally captivating personality.
