Just before 2 a.m. this morning, January 24th, the victim made a purchase at the Circle K store, located at\u00a01181 Homestead Road N.\u00a0in Lehigh Acres.\u00a0 While he was reaching for his wallet, he placed his silver\/grey LG Metro PCS phone, with a white case and black cover, on the counter.\u00a0 After paying for his purchase, he left the store, accidentally leaving his phone behind.\u00a0 Moments later, he realized that he forgot his phone and went back inside to retrieve it.\u00a0 However, neither the victim nor the store\u2019s clerk could find it.<\/p>\n
A review of the store\u2019s surveillance system captured images of a Hispanic male, wearing a black t-shirt with a skull type emblem and a black baseball hat with a skull emblem, concealing the victim\u2019s phone with his left arm until the clerk was away from the counter.\u00a0 The unknown Hispanic male then took the phone and placed it in his left pants pocket.\u00a0 After the Hispanic male paid for his items, he left southbound on\u00a0Homestead Road\u00a0in what is believed to be a white Chevrolet S-10 pick up truck.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough this wasn\u2019t a premeditated crime, the suspect clearly capitalized on the victim\u2019s mistake and made the choice to steal something that wasn\u2019t his,\u201d said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.\u00a0 \u201cOnce the public can help identify him, he\u2019ll realize that his bad decision will result in his mug shot being taken after he\u2019s booked into the Lee County Jail.\u201d<\/p>\n
