The complaint goes into asking a question, who is actually paying for the billboard, flyers, website and signs because there are no disclosures statements on anything.<\/p>\n<p>Are they using tax payer money? So who is accountable for it?<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In August, the Fire board&#8217;s attorney, Richard Pringle, told the board of fire commissioners that they, the chief and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">employees could not in any way promote the passage<\/span> of the Nov. 4 ballot question by asking people to &#8220;vote for&#8221; or &#8220;pass the assessment fee.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pringle cited legal requirements that all fire departments are subjected to and must follow throughout Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The activist said an on duty firefighter approach him or her at a function that the firefighters were at promoting their so-called educational program asked people to \u201cPlease vote for the assessment and save my job\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Lehigh Acres Gazette<\/em> has learned through public records the price that the PR firm doing this so-called educational program for the fire district is being paid a maximum of $32,500 plus third party extra\u2019s such the billboard for $3,750.00 and YES it is being paid by the taxpayer money.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A local community activist has filed election complaint against Lehigh Acres Fire Department.
