\"\"A blame game of sorts and a Lehigh Acres homeowner is caught in the middle, living without running water to her home.
\nGale Greene says the well behind her home was damaged and now she’s running a hose from her neighbor’s house to fill up her tank. Now there’s a debate over who’s responsible and who will pay for the repairs.
\nGreene has lived in Lehigh for 5 years. She owns the home and the property next to it, both are nestled on the side of a canal.
\nShe says the trouble started about a year ago. “The canal collapsed in on my first property, about a hundred feet down and about 15 feet up.”
\nShe says cars driving up and down the side of the canal, and through it, damaged the canal and her well.
\nThe East County Water Control District disagrees and says it was just the canal so that’s all they repaired.
\nWhen Green filed a claim with her insurance company, they said the well was most likely damaged by the collapsed canal.
\n“I have the letter saying from my insurance company that as far as they can see, it’s East County’s fault.”
\nHowever, the insurance company says the exact cause can’t be determined.
\n“Several wells in this area of Lehigh Acres over the past 4 or 6 years have failed, and i think that hers might just be one of the next ones in line to fail,” said David Lindsay of the East County Water Control District. Greene says she will continue to fight, looking for a way for her well to be fixed.<\/p>\n

“I’m not going to give up, I’m still fighting. I still think that they should be the ones to fix this because this is not my fault at all, this is obviously East County’s fault.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
