Browning out two stations for 12 hours per day (rotating stations on the off peak time using historical data). This will not jeopardize service, will increase morale and decrease overtime pay.<\/p>\n<p>2. Changing firefighter schedules to 12 hours a day (just like the Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office) for 3 days on and four days off \u2013 verses \u2013 24 hours on and 48 hours off. This will not jeopardize service, will increase morale and decrease overtime pay. It does not violate Florida Statue or the Fair Labor Standards Act\u00a0(FLSA).<\/p>\n<p>3. Elimination of all \u201cKelly days\u201d this is a paid day off taken at a scheduled interval in addition to normal time off or vacation.<\/p>\n<p>Also maintenance issues become easier to handle because you know when that station equipment is not being used.<\/p>\n<p>These savings measures are 100% trackable and measureable and should not be ignored by the fire department or its board.<\/p>\n<p>The next regular monthly of the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District will be held on\u00a0July 29, 2014\u00a0and will begin at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District, Station 104, 3102 16th St SW, Lehigh Acres, FL 33976.<\/p>\n<p>Budget meeting scheduled at 4:00 p.m. the same day, same place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Breakdown of all calls between July 1, 2012 \u2013 June 30, 2014 (numbers were provided by the Lehigh Acres Fire Dept.)
