Dixie E. Gerding, 92, of Bethelhem, PA was a current resident of Lehigh Acres, FL entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. She was born Aug. 20, 1921 in Ludlow, KY to William A. and Lucy (Zeysing) Thompson, graduated from Sadieville High School in KY, later married Robert F. Gerding and was the mother of four children. She was involved in the Women’s Missionary Society and a member of the Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church in Bethlehem, PA. She was a loving wife, mother, granny and aunt. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.<\/p>\n
Dixie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert F. Gerding; two sons: Wayne (Penney) Gerding of Waddy, KY and Larry (Ruthie) Gerding of Pleasant Gap, PA; daughters: Diane (Damon) Shelor of Lehigh Acres, FL and Darlene (David) Nemeth of Bethlehem, PA; grandchildren: Heather Gerding, Kelly Shelor, Lisa (Scott) Hadley, Melissa Nemeth, Brian Nemeth, Tabatha (Steve) Bennett and Scott Jordon; great grandchildren: Kyle and Whitney Bennett; and nephew, Kent (Cheryl) Mays. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother in law, Thelma (Roy) Mays; nephew, Roy Mays, III.<\/p>\n
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 7-8pm on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Anderson-Patterson Cremation & Funeral Services chapel, 2701 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres, FL with a memorial service beginning at 8pm with Larry Gutridge officiating. Memorial services and inurnment will also take place at a later date in Bethlehem Memorial Park in Bethlehem, PA.
