A class of 32 seniors will be awarded four-year college tuition scholarships, with a value of more than $470,000, through The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools\u2019 Take Stock in Children Program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese students have demonstrated through hard work, determination, and a positive vision for the future, that they deserve the applause of the community,\u201d says Marshall T. Bower, President &amp; CEO of The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. \u201cThey have reached a milestone in their lives\u2026 graduation from high school, and they are well-prepared for the next stepping stone toward a bright future, college!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Originally selected as scholarship recipients in either sixth or ninth grade, these high school graduates have honored their contracts to maintain good grades, remain crime-free, drug-free, and meet regularly with an assigned mentor.\u00a0 All Take Stock in Children applicants come to the program in at-risk situations, from low-income homes, attending Lee County District Schools. Upon graduation, each student will a receive four-year college tuition scholarship.
