Bring your questions and issues! The Lehigh Acres Edible Gardening Exchange’s speaker this month will be the group’s moderator Karen Harty. Karen is a UF\/IFAS Lee County Extension Agriculture Program Coordinator (volunteer with a title), Master Gardener, 4-H Leader, and an avid edible gardener. She originated in Pennsylvania and migrated to SW Florida five years ago. Her first attempts at SW FL summer gardening failed but now, packed with know-how she eats from her garden all year long.<\/p>\n
Find out what kind of tomatoes grow in our summers. Learn how to grow lettuce even in our stifling heat. Discover new plants that grow well during our long, 94 degree, 90% humidity days of summer. Understand why some plants grow better in pots instead of in the soil. In addition, the youth 4-H Junior Edible Gardening Club will have lots of the plants Karen will be talking about available for purchase.<\/p>\n
