Paraguayan ‘styled’ arpa (meaning harp)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Dec. 25, 2013, musician Steve Barnett\u00a0completed building his latest harp just in time for Christmas!<\/p>\n

Barnett, who resides in Lehigh Acres, Fla. is not only a harp builder and player, but he is also a professional\u00a0film,\u00a0TV and\u00a0voiceover actor.<\/p>\n

“Well, I finally completed the construction of the new Paraguayan harp. I was given the required strings as a Christmas gift.”<\/p>\n

There are many kinds of harps, and Barnett shares about his latest.<\/p>\n

“This most recent harp I’ve built is a Paraguayan ‘styled’ arpa (meaning harp). It is just a bit larger and heavier than a typical Paraguayan harp. Instead of the usual 10-14 pounds, mine weighs in at 20.”<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Steve Barnett this new harp is not quite ready to play yet, but he has others and has\u00a0played many harps at several events throughout Southwest Florida.<\/p>\n

“The strings are now installed, and the instrument has a full rich voice of both bass and treble. However it will take about a month for the strings and the wood to settle in and stay in tune.<\/p>\n

I have other harps, and I play at a variety of events.”<\/p>\n

In addition to being a musician and harp builder,\u00a0Steve Barnett\u00a0is also a realtor, a character\u00a0actor, and a member of a film and television organization,\u00a0UFTA.<\/p>\n

Barnett has recently been cast in a UFTA produced film,\u00a0“Casting.”<\/p>\n
