\"\"Obesity is the second leading cause of death. Many adults and adolescents today, suffer from diabetes, strokes, and heart disease all because of obesity.\u00a0 Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese. Thirty years ago, most people led lives that kept them at a healthy weight. Kids walked to and from school every day, ran around at recess, participated in gym class, and played for hours after school before dinner. Meals were home-cooked with reasonable portion sizes and there was always a vegetable on the plate. Eating fast food was rare and snacking between meals was an occasional treat. Today, children experience a very different lifestyle. Walks to and from school have been replaced by car and bus rides. Gym class and after-school sports have been cut; afternoons are now spent with TV, video games, and the internet. Parents are busier than ever and families eat fewer home-cooked meals. Snacking between meals is now commonplace.<\/p>\n

The biggest fast food restaurant: McDonalds, is loved by many people around the world. And many other people would love for it to serve healthier foods for their kids and family. A multitude of people in the world will choose McDonalds over a home cooked meal because it\u2019s quicker, they don\u2019t have to cook, and because it\u2019s good. But little do they know all those fats and calories are not good for them and cause them to be obese. While making a school survey, 1 out of 4 students say that McDonalds is their favorite restaurant and they would give up a home cooked meal any day for it. That\u2019s how most of the Americans view fast food restaurants vs. a home cooked meal. That\u2019s the reason why America is the second fattest country in the world today. If we could get people to slow down the amount of fast food they eat and get them to eat healthy, then America would be a \u201cslim\u201d country instead of \u201cfat\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
