The Sun Cup Golf Center \u2013 formerly Daniels Driving Range at Six Mile Cypress and Daniels Boulevard \u2013 is proud to announce that renowned teacher and player Chris Trout, PGA, has joined SCGC as Director of Instruction.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdding Chris Trout to our team is a huge step forward for Sun Cup Golf Center,\u201d SCGC owner Jason Fry said. \u201cChris has tremendous ability as an instructor \u2013 as well as a proven record as a playing professional. We are proud to have him, and his talent can be of benefit to all our guests.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trout, 31, is a Class A PGA Professional who most recently was an assistant professional at Cypress Lake Country Club for seven years. The Mariner High School and Florida Gulf Coast University graduate earned his degree in Sports Management, while playing for the Eagles\u2019 golf team from 2000-03.<\/p>\n
Having won the 2010 South Florida Open champion and Player of the Year in the Southwest Florida PGA Chapter in 2011 and 2012. He holds the course records at Cypress Lake Country Club (61) and Miromar Lakes Country Club (64).<\/p>\n
A Titleist Professional Staff Member, Trout has been teaching for over 10 years, having studied under legendary teaching pro Dr. Jim Suttie (2000 PGA Teacher of the Year) at TwinEagles in Naples.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe all students have different levels of abilities, and have to be taught as individuals,\u201d Trout said. \u201cThrough solid fundamentals, students will gain a better knowledge of their own swing. A game plan will be put into place to better reach their individual goals. I am a proponent of simplifying the golf swing, and video analysis will be provided to show how the body works throughout the swing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSun Cup Golf Center has become a complete practice facility with the addition of Chris Trout,\u201d SCGC executive director J.J. Scott said. \u201cHis playing talent is impressive, and he has the ability to connect with his students using a combination of technology and proven teaching techniques. He will flourish here, and the Southwest Florida community will improve their golf as a result.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trout offers lessons to individuals and groups in 30- and 60-minute increments, as well as 30-minute junior lessons. All lessons include one-on-one video analysis.<\/p>\n
