For the first time ever, there\u2019s going to be a Miss Lehigh Acres pageant contest with the hopes that the winner could end up in the Miss Florida U.S. International and Miss Florida American beauty pageants.<\/p>\n
Suzi Hosfeld, executive director of both pageants and the Little Miss\/Jr. Miss Pre-Teen Florida American Beauty pageant, says she is excited because there have been calls since last year asking for a Miss Lehigh pageant in Lehigh Acres.<\/p>\n
Hosfeld said, we invited all 2013 winners of the Lehigh Acres Spring Festival but to date no one has contacted us back about the state pageant in November.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have planned a Miss Lehigh Acres pageant and it is set for Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. at the VFW Post at 25 Homestead Road and since the time is short, we are calling for entrants now to sign up to be in the pageant,\u201d Hosfeld said.<\/p>\n
A workshop will be held for the applicants from Lehigh Acres so they will know how the pageant will be conducted and what to wear and what to expect,\u201d Hosfeld said.<\/p>\n
Hosfeld said the two large parents, Miss Florida U.S. International and Miss Florida America are the third largest pageant systems in the world and the sister pageant to the Miss Universe Pageant.<\/p>\n
Hosfeld said they hold local preliminary pageants throughout the state of Florida all year long and hold their State Pageant in November.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year, we are going to hold a Miss Lehigh Acres division. Our corporate offices are in Fort Myers and we have never done this before,\u201d she said.\u201dSo many Lehigh Acres residents have asked for a \u2018local\u2019 queen so we thought this is the year to do it. We would love to hold a pageant and the winners will have the opportunity promote Lehigh not only to those from all over the state but to those all over the glove,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Anyone who wants to contact her may call 239-822-4661 or email her at\u00a0famemodeltalent@aol.com<\/a>\u00a0You can also go on their websites at:\u00a0www.missfloridausinternational.net<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0www.missfloridaamericanbeauty.com<\/a>, she said.<\/p>\n Some of the details on the age divisions, according to Hosfeld are:<\/p>\n – Miss Lehigh U.S. International, ages 18-25<\/p>\n – Tiny Miss Lehigh Acres, ages 4-5<\/p>\n – Little Miss Lehigh Acres, ages 6-8<\/p>\n – Miss Pre-Teen Lehigh Acres, ages 9-11<\/p>\n – Junior Miss Lehigh Acres, ages 12-14<\/p>\n – Miss Teen Lehigh Acres American beauty, ages 15-18<\/p>\n – Mrs. Lehigh Acres American Beauty, must be married and over the age of 22.<\/p>\n – Ms. Lehigh Acres American Beauty can be married, unmarried or divorced but be over the age of 29.<\/p>\n – Elite Lehigh Acres American Beauty, over age 50<\/p>\n \u201cThen we offer a Mr. Lehigh Acres for guys of all ages,\u201d Hosfeld said.<\/p>\n Hosfeld said that since these pageants are strictly for Lehigh Acres, only local residents should enter.
