{"id":25556,"date":"2013-08-17T20:40:43","date_gmt":"2013-08-18T00:40:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/?p=25556"},"modified":"2013-08-17T20:40:43","modified_gmt":"2013-08-18T00:40:43","slug":"mans-death-is-deemed-homicide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/2013\/08\/mans-death-is-deemed-homicide\/","title":{"rendered":"Man&#8217;s Death Is <br>Deemed Homicide"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_25542\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25542\" style=\"width: 172px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25542\" title=\"BYRTUS, KYLE ALEXANDER\" src=\"http:\/\/thelehighacresgazette.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/BYRTUS-KYLE-ALEXANDER.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"172\" height=\"211\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-25542\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">KYLE ALEXANDER BYRTUS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Just a few details have come to light about the death of 25-year-old Kyle Byrtus, whose body was found Thursday in a secluded area of Lehigh Acres.<\/p>\n<p>The Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office said Friday by email the death is being investigated as a homicide.<\/p>\n<p>The body was discovered in the area of Meadow Road and Leah Court by a man, who stopped to investigate after he noticed a large number of buzzards in the area, according to a sheriff\u2019s office report.<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff\u2019s office has not released a cause of death, hasn\u2019t said how long Byrtus\u2019 body was at the location or if he was killed there, but said it was \u201cremains\u201d that were discovered.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Detectives said they believe Byrtus was recently frequenting the Pine Manor area and were hoping someone in the area recognized seeing him recently.<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff\u2019s office said there wasn\u2019t any missing person report filed for Byrtus.<\/p>\n<p>Byrtus was a graduate from Fort Myers High School in 2006. He signed with Florida Atlantic University\u2019s track team after being named all-conference his senior year.
