Some\u00a0of the recipients included Lee County Volunteers\u00a0In Medicine who received $2500.00,\u00a0Florida Coast University\u00a0received $5,000.00,\u00a0 ECHO\u00a0received $2,500.00, Riverdale High School\u00a0 got $1,000.00,\u00a0 and $5,950.00 was given to several local teachers as special\u00a0Honorariums.<\/p>\n<p>Florida\u00a0Gulf Coast University will use their funds to\u00a0provide a scholarship for\u00a0the up coming school year. Pictured receiving their check\u00a0for $5000.00 is Kiwanis President Elect John Graham and Stanley &#8220;Butch&#8221; Perchan, who is the Director of Athletic Advancement for the University.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Lee County Volunteers In medicine will use their\u00a0funds to help\u00a0fund the Compassionate Care Clinic on Lee Blvd. in Lehigh Acres. The clinic serves those people who have no insurance and who are under\u00a0insured and\u00a0who qualify\u00a0based on their income\u00a0to receive\u00a0free medical care.<\/p>\n<p>Riverdale\u00a0will use their funds to help complete construction\u00a0of a\u00a0wrestling pavilion\u00a0on the\u00a0school campus, while ECHO will use the funds to seed and match several grants to\u00a0fund\u00a0a new sustainable\u00a0food growth program\u00a0 to\u00a0implement\u00a0world wide.<\/p>\n<p>Damon Shelor,\u00a0Treasurer for the\u00a0Foundation \u00a0said &#8220;Others receiving\u00a0checks included the Lehigh Singers, Arts of The Inland,\u00a0Learning For Life,\u00a0Special Olympics,\u00a0and the Kids Wish Network.\u00a0Additionally we contributed\u00a0more than $1,375.00\u00a0of \u201cIn-Kind&#8221;\u00a0contributions to\u00a0Lehigh Acres\u00a0Community Services\u00a0and\u00a0others&#8221;, he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Kiwanis Club President Bruce Boyd added\u00a0&#8220;These funds and all of the funds that support\u00a0of our\u00a0community programs are generated from the Kiwanis Thrift Store located\u00a0on Homestead Road. Donations\u00a0made to our store are then resold and all of the money\u00a0goes back into our community.
