On\u00a0Saturday, June 29, 2013, at\u00a02:29 a.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a traffic crash.\u00a0 The incident occurred at 3709 23rd Street S.W. in Lehigh Acres, Florida.\u00a0\u00a0Deputies responded to the scene.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, it was confirmed an SUV had struck a parked car in a neighboring driveway and then the\u00a0garage side of the residence at the address above.\u00a0 The vehicle landed on its side and pinned the passenger inside.\u00a0 The driver of the vehicle was seen by witnesses walking away.<\/p>\n
Due to the nature of the crash, a detective with the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit was assigned to investigate.\u00a0 Preliminary details reveal the driver, 38 year old Paul Edward Williams of 3635 Highland Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida lost control while driving at a high rate of speed.\u00a0 He plowed through the cul-de-sac, struck the parked car and came to rest after going airborne to strike the roof and side of the home.<\/p>\n
Williams was located and transported to a local hospital with head injuries.\u00a0 His blood alcohol content was over two times the legal limit at .17.\u00a0 He has been\u00a0given a notice to appear\u00a0in court on multiple DUI\u00a0charges including DUI with property damage and DUI with injury to another, as well as other traffic offenses.\u00a0 His license had\u00a0been suspended, so he was cited accordingly.<\/p>\n
His passenger and wife, 38 year old Tiffany Chenatte Roberts also sustained head injuries and was transported to the hospital after extricated from the vehicle.\u00a0 The injuries to driver and passenger are not believed to be life-threatening.\u00a0 There was an adult and two children in the home at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.<\/p>\n
