About 80% of McDonald&#8217;s national menu items are less than 400 calories \u2013 including some of your all-time favorites like the Egg McMuffin, our World Famous Fries and the classic Filet-O-Fish.<\/p>\n<p>According to recent research by the International Food Information Council Foundation, about 15 percent of Americans accurately estimate the number of calories they need to maintain their weight. This past summer, McDonald\u2019s introduced a \u201cFavorites Under 400\u201d menu that highlights the calorie information for some of customers\u2019 favorite foods and beverages to help put calorie counts in better contex.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->According to McDonald\u2019s USA President Jan Fields, approximately 750,000 employees working in McDonald\u2019s and franchisee restaurants in the U.S. will be introduced to a voluntary nutrition e-learning program. The program will help build employees\u2019 knowledge of calories, nutrition and McDonald\u2019s menu offerings.<\/p>\n<p>Today the Lehigh Acres McDonald\u2019s General Manager Brian Swanagan, started voluntary nutrition program by setting up a display in the lobby. Display is was setup for customers to understand the value of good nutrition with 600 calorie meal and less sodium options that McDonalds has.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who knew so much taste had so few calories?
