One subpoena requested information on the company\u2019s physician referrals and ownership and management of its whole-hospital physician joint ventures. Another requested information on emergency room management, including the use of ProMed software.<\/p>\n<p>HMA operates 71 hospitals in 15 states, including 23 hospitals in Florida.
