He spearheaded the project from its inception.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople get excited,\u201d Mathews said of the rumors. \u201cRight now, we\u2019re seeing outstanding momentum. We want to see our dream of coach Heyward fulfilled. It\u2019s been a process. We were in no-man\u2019s land for a stretch. Now we\u2019re starting to come out of it. We have a lot of momentum. We have our foundation. We\u2019re working on getting the roof completed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mathews said the school district has been helpful and understanding with the process.<\/p>\n<p>Heyward said community and business donations have helped get the project started.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re getting some donations here and there,\u201d Heyward said. \u201cWe\u2019re getting close. We need to step up and get it done, but we need a little bit of help. We need a big chunk of change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Riverdale set up a non-profit organization through its booster club to finish raising the funds.
