The Eagles moved up after being in a tie for 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0place after day one. Led by sophomore\u00a0<strong>Chelsea Guoynes, (Traverse City, Mich.\/Traverse City Central HS)\u00a0<\/strong>who currently sits in a tie for 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0place individually.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe played so much better today, more like what we are capable of. I can\u2019t say enough about Chelsea and Mei\u2019s rounds,\u201d said head coach\u00a0<strong>Sarah Trew<\/strong>. \u201cThey stayed patient and didn\u2019t force anything or do too much. We have been working hard this spring and I am excited to see the team\u2019s effort paying off. Tomorrow is a new day and we are going to take the confidence from today\u2019s round into it.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Mercer leads the tournament after two rounds with a total score of 584. Stetson (596), Toledo (596), Morehead State (604) and McNeese State (606) secure the top five spots on the leaderboard.<\/p>\n<p>The Green and Blue opened the tournament with a score of 315 (27-over par) to position themselves in a tie for 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0on leaderboard after day one. The Eagles charged back on day two with a total score of 295 to move themselves up to the No. 6 spot on the leaderboard. The team score of 295 on day two was the third lowest team score on the day and the second lowest in program history at FGCU.<\/p>\n<p>Guoynes paced the Green and Blue through the first two rounds of competition. The sophomore finished the first round with a 3-over par (75) and then fired a 1-under par (71) in the second round to move into a tie for 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0place on the individual leaderboard.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman\u00a0<strong>Mei Khuan Yong (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia\/S.M.K. Cochrane)<\/strong>\u00a0also shot a 1-under par (71) and moved into a tie for 18<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0place after shooting an 8-over par 80 in day one.<\/p>\n<p>Junior\u00a0<strong>Megan Van Etten (Trinity Fla.\/JW Mitchell HS)\u00a0<\/strong>moved back into a tie for 27<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0with a second round score of 78 (6-over par) after an opening round score of 75 (3-over par) had her in a tie for 18<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0place. Megan is participating as an individual and her score will not be tallied in the team score.<\/p>\n<p>Classmate\u00a0<strong>Sara Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.\/Minnesota Virtual Academy HS)<\/strong>\u00a0moved up on the leaderboard into a tie for 39<sup>th<\/sup>, with a second round score of 75 (3-over par).<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore\u00a0<strong>Georgia Price (Winchester, England\/Fort Myers HS)<\/strong>\u00a0currently sits in a tie for 50<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0after a second round score of 78 (6-over par).
