\"\"<\/a>Join\u00a0East County Water Control District (ECWCD)<\/a>\u00a0at the FREE Wings Over Water Festival and discover the beauty of southwest Florida\u2019s water, land and wildlife.<\/p>\n

The Second Annual, two-day festival will help celebrate southwest Florida\u2019s natural resources and includes an array of programs on local waterways and wildlife from Friday, April 5 to Saturday, April 6, 2013.<\/p>\n

Friday, April 5 – Nature Walk and Presentation of the Future of Harns\/West MarshJoin guides, Cathy Olson, Lee County Parks and Recreation, and David E. Lindsay ECWCD District Manager, as they share the history of Harns Marsh on a guided nature walk. The duo will discuss historical framework and future plans for Harns Marsh and the West Marsh. Admission is free. Reservations are preferred.<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Saturday, April 6 – Festival EventsCommunity members and visitors are encouraged to participate in the FREE nature festival Saturday, April 6. Visit with environmental and community organizations from across southwest Florida. Experience nature through guided walks.Try your luck at spotting a snail kite with Dr. Jerry Jackson during the early bird –\u00a0Bird Walk from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.\u00a0Reservations preferred<\/a>.\u00a0 Festival offers food, fun, dynamic presentations,\u00a0activities and more from 9 a.m – 2 p.m.! Don’t forget to purchase a rubber duck for the first annual Lehigh Acres Chamber Of Commerce Duck Races. \n9:30 a.m.\u00a0–\u00a0Dr. Jerry Jackson, is Professor of Ecological Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University. His expertise focuses on forest and coastal ecosystems, bird management issues associated with aviation, and the history of ornithology.10:30 a.m.\u00a0–\u00a0Mark Renz, is a fossil guide and author of numerous books on Florida fossils. Mark will share insights on the world of fossiling and will have bones and teeth from prehistoric animals like Mammoth, mastodon, sloth, armadillo, sharks on hand!1:00 p.m.\u00a0– Charles Sobzack, is an author of multiple books, including, The Living Gulf Coast \u2013 A Nature Guide to Southwest Florida.
