(hosted by the TAERSIF) at Florida Gulf Coast University Alico Arena in partnership with the Edison &amp; Ford Winter Estates will engage and captivate students of all ages with fun hands-on science and engineering activities along with Wild Wizard Science Shows throughout the day. The event will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013. \u00a0Students and their families participating in the Fair, along with the public, can join the Edison &amp; Ford Winter Estates Education Team to make solar necklaces, participate in solar challenges, see an explosion and a water rocket launch, ride the hovercraft, make polymer (slime) or be on stage with the Wild Wizard during a Wild Wizard Science Show. The Edison &amp; Ford Winter Estates is proud to partner with the Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Science and Engineering Fair and the Thomas A. Edison Inventors Fair and FGCU to bring the best opportunities for students in education.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The planned activities of Science Live include:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Nature of Science \u2013 Canister Pop<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Earth &amp; Environment \u2013 Solar Bead Necklace and Solar Challenges<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Space \u2013 Rocket Launch, Straw Rockets, Mentos Drop<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Biology \u2013 Worms, plaster bugs<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Energy &amp; Motion \u2013 Hovercraft<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Chemistry &amp; Matter \u2013 Slime<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Engineering \u2013 Perfect Putt and Zipline Builds<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Wild Wizard Lab Show \u2013 9:30AM \u2013 10:30AM, 11:30AM \u2013 12:30PM, 3:00PM \u2013 4:00PM<\/p>\n<p>There will also be an exhibit sponsored by the Bonita Bay Residents Wildlife Program featuring an amazing display about Florida wildlife and native habitats.<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE LIVE! will also feature activity booths with the Green Bus, Imaginarium Science Center and Lee County Mosquito Control.\u00a0 The Green Bus Recycling Experience is a dynamic opportunity for students and their families to participate in activities focusing on \u201cReduce\u201d, \u201cReuse\u201d, \u201cRecycle\u201d.\u00a0 The Imaginarium Science Center<a title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" name=\"_GoBack\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a>\u00a0offers students and their families the opportunity to create flight with simple materials.\u00a0 Lee County Mosquito Control gets students and their families engaged with hands-on learning experiences that include mosquito identification, their habitats and life cycles and learn about techniques used to control mosquitoes.<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE LIVE! will be open from 8:00 a.m. \u2013 3:30 p.m.\u00a0 SCIENCE LIVE! will be located at the Recreational Outdoor Center adjacent to Alico Arena.\u00a0 Wild Wizard Science Shows will be at 9:30AM, 11:30AM and 3PM.\u00a0 Come out and support your Southwest Florida students in science.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SCIENCE LIVE!
