Due to the nature of the work, the centers will be closed temporarily and the registration system will be down briefly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur visitor numbers typically are down between Christmas and New Years at parks &amp; recreation, and we expect these improvements will minimally impact the communities we serve,\u201d Director Dave Harner said.<\/p>\n<p>Crews will strip and resurface gymnasium floors at Veterans Recreation Center in Lehigh Acres.<br \/>\nClosure will begin on Monday, Dec. 24. Veterans Recreation Center is expected to reopen Wednesday, Jan. 2.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>WebTrac \u2013 the department\u2019s online registration system\u2013 will have its software upgraded to create<br \/>\na more user-friendly experience. The public will not be able to sign up for programs, events or<br \/>\npicnic shelters on Wednesday, Jan. 2, or Thursday, Jan. 3.
