He was re-elected without opposition this year and will take over as president pro tempore Tuesday during the Legislature&#8217;s organizational session.<\/p>\n<p>Richter has worked the past four years as chairman of the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee and has been heavily involved in issues such as property insurance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is no doubt where Senator Richter stands on the issues that matter to Florida\u2019s future,&#8221; said Gaetz, a Niceville Republican who will formally assume the presidency Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Richter\u2019s Naples office staff the Senator is planning to open a satellite office in Lehigh Acres in a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the first appointment to his leadership team, incoming Senate President Don Gaetz today named Republican Garrett Richter as president pro tempore.
