<\/a>Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres<\/strong> has again achieved the highest level of veterinary excellence following a thorough evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres earned reaccreditation from AAHA after a rigorous review of the hospital\u2019s practice protocols, medical equipment, facility and client service.<\/p>\n\u201cI would like to congratulate Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres on vigilantly keeping up with advancements in veterinary medicine and adhering to the Association\u2019s high standards,\u201d said Michael Cavanaugh, DVM, DABVP, AAHA executive director.\u00a0 \u201cThey are clearly committed to doing their very best as evidenced by the hard work and effort they put into this voluntary process.\u201d AAHA is the only organization in the United States and Canada that accredits companion animal hospitals based on standards that go above and beyond state regulations. The AAHA Standards of Accreditation<\/em>, viewed as the standard of veterinary excellence, contain more than 900 individual standards, divided into 19 sections. These areas of focus include: patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology and continuing education.<\/p>\n Only 15 percent of all small animal hospitals in the United States and Canada have achieved accreditation by the Association.
